I own a 98 camaro and i have t-tops that go in the back of the trunk. There is a small spot in the back that i would like to build a box for but the problem is that i have never built one before. The sub is 12' and it is a great sub that i had in my old car but the box is too big. If any one could give me some advice on building a good box or maybe a web site that could help me build a solid box that would be great. I also have 2 more questions....do port holes in the box give you a better bass and do smaller boxes reduce the sound at all. I was also considering putting the amp under neath the seat...i am not sure if that is a bad idea....thanks for all the advice

Different speakers require different size enclosures. Tell us the speaker you want to use, and I can suggest an enclosure size.

Dyohn is definately correct in what he was saying about the different enclosures. I can answers some of the other questions though.
Ported and sealed boxes are quite common. As for better bass that depends on what you mean and your preference. Ported boxes will get louder in a certain frequency range but don't sound as tight. They also tend to be able to get lower.
Sealed boxes make the bass tighter and more defined while giving a more even frequency response. Also sealed enclosures are usually smaller.
Like Dyhon said though it depends on your sub. The traits of either type can increase or decrease depending on the sub.
The type of music you listen to and how loud you listen to it make a big difference aswell.
How much space do you have to work with on this one?
