Subject: Add XM to existing Navi antenna?

I recently purchased an '03 Acura CL-S with the OEM Navigation System and On-Star.  I'm adding an XM Commander on Friday, and I would like to splice into the existing GPS/Onstar antenna for the XM signal instead of adding another external antenna. I already have located the wiring pinout for the Nav unit in the trunk, and I know where the GPS signal goes into the unit.

Does anyone know if I'll be able to receive XM using the existing GPS Nav antenna signal? Curious to see if there's anyone out there who may have tried this.

Thanks,

Rob

It won't work. The Nav antenna is completely different than the antenna used for the XM unit. All you will do is trash the GPS antenna. Each unit MUST have it's own antenna or be antenna which combines the three antennae into one piece. You may want to check with a dealer if they have such an antenna for your car. If not you will have to add another antenna.
