i am installing 4 12"  directed dual voice coil subs and i cant decide  if the directed 1200d would be enough power or should i go with  the 2400d? also what kind of enclosure would be ideal for the directed 212d it says that they can go into any box, but i want the one that will sound the best. i have 2 of them in a ported box and they beat but i want more. let me know thanks

If you have the room, go with the ported box. I'd also go with the 2400d amp.

they are going into 4 seperate boxes and then getting put together in the trunk, just dont know if a sealed box will sound the way that i have 2 of them sounding in a ported box. you dont think that the 2400d would be overkill the subs handle 300 or so rms

just as supradude suggested  the  I would go withthe 2400d and a amp for ur highs that will keep up with the 2400  with out over powering ur highs.

Like myself i'm into both SPL & SQ but i have a big system. and my ride is a daily driver

If this is your goal and the subs are for a ported box, then ported is the way to go. I wouldn't say ported is the way to go ALL the time. I have a sealed box and prefer sealed over ported, thats just my preference.

the subs actually say that they can go in a sealed, vented, or bandpass

i have 2 of them in a ported box and it hits hard, do you think that they will still hit as hard in a sealed box

My 2 15's hit HARD in a sealed box. That is with a Hifonics Brutus 2200d pushing them. They would drop LOWER if they were in a ported box, but they wouldn't handle as much power.
