I just wired in a headunit, and there is absolutely no bass to the front and rear speakers. I didnt wire them in phase, or negative to positive, whats the problem? Any suggestions?

if you reverse 1 speaker in the front they will be out of phase and cause a no bass issue. check the wires to make sure phase is correct.

right, i forgot the terminology, thanks, i read this before when i searched, i guess ill check again and make sure that everything is wired right, does the / between the colors mean that it could be either color? or is that what to connect it to?

does the bass increase when you fade left to right? how about front to back?

No, no bass at all.......0. On the diagram, for example, it says RR Speaker (-) Dark Blue/Orange

Does that mean connect the dark blue to the orance wire?

no, that means the negative wire for the right rear speaker is dark blue with an orange stripe. That's the standard for listing wire colors: "wire color/stripe color"

It sounds like you missed the point.  The harness Jeff referred to was not the harness that plugs into the new stereo, but the one that plugs into your factory radio harness.  You can pick one of these up for cheap enough at several places (even Wal-Mart and AutoZone).  Then you just go color to color, and plug it into your factory radio harness when you're done.

I don't know if this reply is too late to help you, but by chance does your car have the factory Infinity system? If so you may not have powered up the factory amp turn-on wire. Just connect it to the remote wire from your HU. If still no bass, check fuses etc. Did you have bass before radio install?

i will check and see if it has that. Is there any chance that you would know where i could look to find it? Yes, i had bass before the install.

It should say Infinity on the head unit, or maybe on the speaker grilles in the front doors.  More then likely if you have sound coming from the dash speakers, you have an Infinity system. If you connect the remote wire from your HU to the blue wire in the aftermarket harness adaptor, your bass should come back. The factory woofers in that car are driven by the factory amp.  Remember to post if it works or not!

sometimes it doesn't have to say infiniti on the speaker grill or radio and it will be amplified. take the blue and the blue/white wires on your harness you bought and jump them on the red wire. this should get everything working at one time for ya. i have had this happen a million and six times. good luck and hope that helps.
