I just got 2 12" alpine type r's.  they are 4 ohm speakers.  box says rms/peak is 500w/1500w.  am looking for the right amp.  since they are dual voice coil.  should i use 1 amp. -- 2 channel run off bridged.  or 4 channel and run each speaker bridged off of separate channels.  or 2 amps  one to each sub.  do i want to send 500w to each sub?  should i send more closer to 1500w?  have heard these numbers are conservative.  i am using my old q-logic bandpass box(i haven't seen these in a while. . is that a hint?).  do i want the speakers to hit at the same time in a bandpass or off set.. . or is that not up to me.  thanks.

type r

rms/peak  500/1500w                 power range rms  200-500w

look for a monoblock class D amp around 1000RMS watts. also, you might enjoy sound more from anything but a bandpass box...
