to see what Clarion Eq I am talking about. Now I have a couple of questions for you.
1) Does this EQ have a line driver? (it says that it has 7volt output, but doesnt say if its has a line driver)
2) Is it any good quality vise, will it distord my sound.

I am planing on adding a 4channel amp to my setup. I'll be running JBL 65Watt per 4ch to Premium MBquart speakeres and I want to use the EQ to boost my voltage (if it does have line driver) for my JBL amp + W6v2 sub. The thing is that my deck which is panasonic has only 2.3V preoutput (even though panasonic was saying that it has 5v). Well now I need to boost up the voltage to get better sound. I was planing on getting SoundControl Matrix but its $200 which is way more then Clarion EQ.
Thank you

1) Yes, it will boost the signal you feed it, so it's basically a line driver.

2) All eq's distort your sound by function- when you cut or boost frequencies, you're changing the original audio signal (distorting it).

I'm of the school of thought that more is not always better.  The more components you install, the more places noise has to enter.  Start with a well matched system, and there's usually no need to add an eq (which is usually just misused anyway).  Why do you feel you would benefit from boosting the audio signal to your amp?  Your JBL should be fully capable of making full power with the signal it's fed from the Panasonic.
