I have a 2004 yukon with the stock bose system and I am installing a clarion EQ,800w amp and two 12" subs.I was told by a buddy to connect the output converter to the speaker wires at the reciever to prevent distortion from the factory amp.Is this true or can I tap into the speakers beyond the amp?

well, the output from the deck is low level....and your using a high to low level converter....so you need to connect at speaker.   the bose radio is not a good place to connect.

Or you could just get the right interface and boom all your connections are made right at the factory head unit without splicing into any wiring it even includes a switched remote lead isolated from the radio so theres no turn on pop!

Check out www.peripheralelectronics.com or you can order one from https://www.the-musicstore.com/ over the phone or through email.  Just ask for Joe
