Was just looking for thoughts about the Lanzar OPTI1232D subwoofer:

Sensitivity: 88 dB
Peak Power: 2,200 watt
RMS Power: 1,100 watt
Independance: Dual 2 ohm
Low Freq. Response: 26 Hz.
High Freq. Response: 800 Hz.

DVC 12" Subwoofer

I am asking for thoughts because I am contemplating putting 2 of these woofers in the back of a 1998 Plymouth Neon in a Audio Enhancers vent slot enclosure, powered off a Lanzar 4000.2 (1,000 watt RMS per. channel) - I am currently running a single 2001 model Infinity Kappa Perfect 12" DVC woofer off of a cheap VR2 200.2 (running in bridged mode), I had my other system stolen about 3 months ago so this is just a 'make due' system for the moment.

I learned the hard way thinkin WOW its cheap and looks good.  But WOW this stuff is junk.  Stay away from anything Legacy or Lanzar definetly just throwing your money away with that garabage.  Just my .02 tho.  I have had nothing but problems with them.  Its worth buying something more expensive.  The overrate the hell outta there stuff.

I was thinking something along the same, was just wanting opinions. I'm looking at a few different selections of subwoofers and amps, JL W7's, the new Kenwood KFC-W3514DVC, Clif Designs CD 1200C, the Lanzar OPTI1232D ..

But, the one that's impressed me the most is the Kicker 12" Solo-X running in paralell (dual 2 ohm) running off a Kicker 2500.1 ZX (new selection from Kicker). It was the type of bass that all SPL lovers Dream of, handled every freq., bass drop off, didn't clip, and the response was consistant. Hit so hard in the show room that it almost knocked the breath out of my lungs.

Still wanting more thoughts about those Lanzar's though, the only experience i've had with the company was a deck I once owned back in 2002, it blew out is less than 6 months of use. After that I went to my Kenwood eXcelon, and it's still just as good now (if not better) than it was out of the box.

God made Turbo Lag so V8's could keep up.
He also made Nitrus Oxide to make sure that they Didn't.

Anyone can build a 600 HP. V8, takes skill to get a 2.0L 16 Valve to 300 HP.

I remember when Lanzar was ... well LANZAR. You guys remember the old Opti 500, 50C etc? The large gray amplifiers - now I know for sure those things were not overrated but I guess Lanzar just joined most of the pack huh?

are you really looking at JL's in the same breath as the lanzars? I haven't had the same experience of problems as orlando, but those two brands are worlds, nay, galaxies apart and far as quality and sound go. If you've got the budget to be looking at JL equipment, you'd be much much happier in the end going with that equipment.

JL power ratings will be alot closer to actual output than the lanzar ratings. I can almost guarantee you that the ratings on the lanzar are grossly inflated

Honestly, there are few companies you can put against JL Audio, one of them, however, is Kicker for response, handling, and just sheer power. I'm more aiming towards compatitions than just for personal use so I am keeping my options open. Was just curious to get peoples thoughts about those Lanzar's.
