i have this model and i wanted to know does anyone know at what volume the unit starts to clip from the rca's.or is there any way that i could test to see when it clips without buying expensive equipment.the volume goes to 35 i was just going to turn the volume to 20 and set the gains on the amplifiers . i just wanted to know was this a good idea too .

It will clip sooner on a 0dB recording on cd than it will on a strong fm station. On Alpines, I usually set the gains with a strong cd recording with the volume at around 24.
