I have always heard of people doing this but I have never fiqured out how.  Anyone know the answer?  Just wondering.  Brian

Depends on the vehicle. I flush monted my headunits on the competition car by building up the surrounding area with Bondo and fiberglass. If you have enough room behind the HU, you can always custom fabricate a kit to hold the HU recessed into the mounting area.

I take the trim ring from the radio and mount it to the dash bezel and glass it..

Mount the radio in the dash and then put the dash bezel back on.. slips right in.. a pain in the ass in most cars but looks cool.. easier to do in a car that uses a kit such as a 99-6501 and 99-2001 where the trim ring can just sit in the kit flush and wrap it and glass it..
