  My question is, would scewing an amp down to the floor board of my vehicle, would that effect the performance of my amp. That  would be like grounding the amp wouldn't it.

If at all possible try to put something between the amp and the floor . I use rubber gromets from a plumber store. Go and find those rubber faucet stops and use them.Their great to use and you can't even see them.

Make sure you have enough air space around the amp to ensure proper cooling... you didn't mention "where" you were mounting the amp.  Some people like to mount under seats and experience overheats.  Jeff's suggestion about the gromets is one of the best around, they save excessive wear on the amp from vibrations and bumbs (mini shock absorbers)
