im stuck on a good bass amp for these woofers there 750 rms and 1500 peak. im stuck between the hifonic xxhercules which is 2000 rms @1 ohm and 1500 rms@2 ohms or the kicker 2500.1 if thats to much power for these subs i was think about hifonic xx zeus 1600rms @1 ohm and 1100rms@2 ohms.my other choice would be the jl audio 1000.1,fosgate t1000,kicker kx 1200.1 im open to any suggestions and all advise would be appreciated thanks  going into 1986 chevy monte carlo ss

Umm, how many of "these woofers" do you have? And what is the model number?

The L7's are listed as 12L7-D2

not sure what year model he has and thats the first thing listed. 04-05 are the same 02-03 are the same 06 is diff

I personally have no found a good amp to match 2 dual 2ohm l7's   But the new kicker zx1500.1 it a perfect match for them

750@4 1500@2

I would look into one of these, matches the power right on and muh cheaper then the 2500.1

The problem is the 2500.1 is quite alot of power for just 2 of them subs.    would it work yes...but for how long?

That's a very good point. For daily use you might wanna go with something a little smaller than a 2500 watt amplifier. Of course if your going for SPL only and plan on playing these speakers in small bursts, then it would be VERY loud. (For about 20 seconds or so) Then you would have to turn it off.... I personally like to listen to atleast one full song. lol!

get the kx2500.1 and keep it turned down it would awesome if you can supply the electrical upgrade for that kind of an amp. Then when you want to turn it up. You'll be set. In the store it was the new 06 L7's same as yours sounded just as good as mine and mine were in a small sealed box. Hard to beleive i know so i would go with that kx2500.1 and a ported box and hang on.

I am in the same situation.   I have (2) Kicker 12" L7's dual voice coil.  I want to play the system loud all day long because it is on a boat and I'm out on the water all day long.  I guess I will try the ZX1500.1.  and see how that works.  Right now I have (2) KX 600.1 but the subs are under powered.

Just because your subs are dvc does not make them the same. If they are a 2 ohm dvc or 4 ohm dvc, it is going to make a monster difference to the amplifier that you should look at.  For the dual 2 ohm sub if you want monster power, the Zapco C2K9.0X will deliver 2200w rms into a 2 ohm mono load. This should be more than enough power for you.
