I'm not talking about the place where all of our money seems to disappear into when we talk about car audio gear. I'm talking about the new sound deadener absorber material that we are using. We have layered the inner and exterior skins of the Jeep Commander with a good dose of Brown Bread, now we are layering the Black Hole material on top of it. It is almost 1.5" thick, a heavy sound absorbing foam with a sandwich layer of deadener, follwed by more foam and then more adhesive backed deadener. It comes in a good size chunk, cuts easy with a knife and should sound as good as it looks. Much like walking into a anechoic chamber as far as the color of the material and the weight goes. Hopefully it will deaden any standing waves in the door. Can't wait to hear this vehicle in a months time.

I like the name.
------------- Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Rob, sorry to tell you this, but "Black Hole" is not a new product, but it is an OUTSTANDING product. Used it in a set of Focal D-I-Y speakers a few years (like 7... wow) back. The speakers were call Dalines, if I am not mistaken, and they were a really nice system overall... The one drawback to them as the Focal Ti tweeter. This was probably my early attitude dent toward metal domes. WAY too forward IMO... Sold 'em, tho... to someone who liked the highs more than I did. They still work, even though the dustcap on the polyglass 6 inch woofers has long since fallen off :)
All I can say, is those doors will be DEAD!!!! and if I could afford THAT much Black Hole, I would do every surface that I could in my Civic. Good product, and I think you will likey!

I kind of figured that it has been around for awhile, however it is new to me and my distributor. It is uber cool material, see you later Brown Bread.

I agree with stevdart. That is a really cool name.
------------- That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

It looks like it's dark gray though, so shouldn't it be called "Dark Gray Hole"? Or maybe "Light-black Hole"

It reminds me of the rubber mats you see on the floor when you go to the gym.
