Is there any way of wiring two 4 ohm SVC subs to give a total impedence of 4 ohms?

From what I can tell from what I've read so far, the higher the impedence of the subs, the better sound quality you'll get from them.

I'm currently upgrading my car's audio, purchased a Kenwood KAC-8152D 1100W (300W RMS @ 4 ohms, 550W RMS @ 2 ohms) mono-amp, hooked up to two KFC-W3009 800W (200W RMS) 12" SVC subs (haven't done the installation yet).

I want tight, natural bass, so I built my own dual sealed sub-enclosure from 22 mm (a little less than an inch) MDF with double bracing separating the two 1 ft³ chambers as well as a double layer for the front (the thing weighs a ton!). The box is completely air-tight, 100% sure of it. I realise now that I should've rather purchased two 2 ohm subs and connected them in series for a 4 ohm load. Will there be a significant difference in sound quality when playing one sub at 4 ohms, versus the two subs wired in parallel at 2 ohms? My car's trunk is sealed rather tight, so the bass struggles to fill the cabin, hence the reason for two subs.

No. You can wire them to get a net impedance of 2 ohms or 8 ohms, but not 4 ohms.

Just wire them for 2 ohms. I highly doubt you would be able to tell the difference between 4 and 2 ohms other than both wired at 2 will be ~3db louder.

I too would wire them in parallel to have the amp produce the best it can for the subs you have.
