Whell, my crossfire vr2000d decided to snap crackle and pop today, i took it apart and visually the transistors look good as new, the only thing is see wrong are a resistor and a diode looking thingy. Im attaching pictures. For the experienced people in repairs, does this look worth it or do i have a surf board paper weight?

Looks like you lost a capacitor and power resister. The circuit board may be damaged as well; it'll have to be pulled and the traces examined. It might be able to be repaired, assuming you know why it blew and have corrected that problem as well. :)

Support the12volt.comCrossfire has a 2 year warranty if bought from a authorized CDN dealer. Is it still under warranty? They also have a flat rate repair as well, definitely get it fixed.

I don't have a warranty on it i bought it used. I believe the problem was the ground managed to come loose while "inserting" the sub box into the tiny space in the truck cab. Even if i got my hands on a receipt either way the warranty is void, I opened it up.
Do you happen to have contact information for the canadian repair centre? I don't have an authorized dealer anywhere near by.
I went to a local shop and the guy said approx $500 and tryed to sell me a fusion, I nearly turned around when he said "crossfire isn't a very nice brand, definatly not worth fixing"

the resistors frying like that is usually the result of something, not the cause.... since it appears to be in the output stage pull your output FET's and meter them all...if you have any shagged (I'm sure you'll find you do) make sure to replace them in matched pairs... replace the smoked gate stopper resistors and then remove and meter all your pre-drivers as well.... most of what you are paying for with a repair like this is labour...parts can cost $25-50 bucks but labour can easily run $75-300 bucks depending.... it is certainly repairable assuming the board itself hasnt been roasted thru.... i dont see a bad cap from my vantage point, just some blowby on the side of one.... at least none of them are pregnant....
you may want to remove the FET's from that blown side and power it up to make sure the other channel works fine, this will also let you know if you have any issues in the power supply because of this....if you are going to try this make sure to reattched the FET's to the heat sink before you do or you'll have a thermal window of about 30 seconds....
