I am working on my uncle's car stereo. He has two sony explodes that are 300 watts rms a peice and single 4 ohm ,and a Audiobahn sub that is 600 watts rms (I know that they over rate there subs ) and that sub is dual 4 ohms and i have to hook up all three subs to the Rockford Fosgate Power 851s. I was goin to put the two sony on one channel to get 2 ohms and hook the audiobahn up as a 2 ohms on the other channel. and the subs are all sharing air space. I will modify the RCA's so that the subs are playing the same.
What do you guy think about this?

sorry but it sounds retarted........do not mix sub sizes or brands. this is the first rule. pick a set of subs either one would about be the same quality. then wire it to the amp with the proper impedance.
I strongly do not reccomend putting diffrent subs in the same box on the same amp. easy way to make it sound horrible and blow something up

I realize that. The whole thing is messed up but i told him if he wants to, i would install it. By the independence is all right. It won't blow the Amp i know that. I played it through my car stereo and it sounded good. My amp is a kicker 1200kx.1 did do anything to the amp.
