hello all.. new to the forum.. ok so im no veteran but ive installed enough systems with friends to know how ot do it simply. today was teh first time ive dinked with dual voice coils and i must say i regret it greatly. i dont know much about how these things work.. just that they do... or should... so here is my issue
i have two rockford fosgate punch stage2 10"s. I have one rockford fosgate mono 900 watt amp. Now the problem is that the amp is lighting up... but my subs arent working. i think i have it down to a wiring issue. first i had the negative of one coil connected to the positive of the other coil and same for other parts.... then i just had the positive and negative from the amp going to one side of the speaker... that was a no go ... then i tried all positives adn all negatives... no go...
now would this cause no sound... if so whew its probably that... so what i need to do is connect the negative of one to the positive of the other side..... then same on other side... but then the amp line hook to positive of one coil and negative of the other coil.... i had tried the diagram earlier but i didnt understand it now i think i do
If you have a mono block rockford than you wanna do one of two things. If the amp has two sets of speaker out puts just hook up one driver to each set of terminals. Simple. If the amp only has one set of outputs than you are just gonna hook up both positives off the subs to the positive on the amp and then hook up both negatives of the subs to the negative on the amp. The subs you listed are not dual voice coils, you just have two subs with single voice coils and since that amp is two ohm stable you wanna hook it up the way I said

I searched the RF site for Punch DVC woofers and found the P210D2 and P210D4. Dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm. You have to know which ones you have in order to wire them up correctly. Go to woofer wiring and input the model you have, and the quantiy. The wiring is done using single strand speaker wire between coils.
Experimenting with various wiring configurations like you have done can cause amplifier failure and other severe traumas!

i have the two of the p210d4 ... thank you for looking them up instead of calling me totally stupid. i am no genius and when doing non-straight forward wiring i dont know what im doing. but i know what subs i own and that tehy are dvc. i just woke up and have renewed energy to try this again... i just hate removing subs from boxes.... but ah well...
I recommend you wire your subs like this. Each line is a piece of wire.:

Support the12volt.comi have them running.. now i ask.. whats this about amps running certain ohms stable... what if they dont do it stable... no go? blown speakers.. blown amps... or what?
