Is it ok to run the power wire and the the rca cables on the same side or will it cause any problems. I see best buy and circuit city do that on there installs. I'm using a 10 guage power wire if it makes any difference

It should be avoided as there is the potential for noise to be induced from the power wire into the RCA cables. This is basic installation techniques. Installers may not be allowed or charging the extra time to run the wires separately. It takes more time to take both sides of the vehicle apart and run cables. Make sure that you install an appropriate size fuse within a few inches of the battery and keep your amp ground wire the same size as the power wire and as short as possible. Ground it to a clean and paint free section of the chassis or body with it's own screw. Speaker wires aren't very prone to noise from power wires, so it is OK to run them where needed.

Most instances it doesn't but it to avoid noise problems spakies right run the rca's down other side of the vehicle. But I will say I have ran rcas down same side as the power wire out of necessity and never had a noise problem yet. There is always the chance though. Also make sure when you run you power cable through the firewall it has a grommet to pass through or put your own grommet in.

Using a 10 gauge, probally not.
10 gauge or not, it still needs to pass through a grommet whether it's factory or not.
