whats up guys. i got a quick question. i have a flipout screen that i'd like to locate the screen in one place and the accual unit in another. does anyone know how to go about extending a ribbon cable if it can be done. i've heard you can and you can't so i thought i'd ask the gurus. any feedback would be great. thanks.

provide pictures of the cable and connectors and i'll let you know. i make ribbon cables. very easy to work with. the connectors are idc (insulation displacement contact). an idc crimp tool uses 2 parallel jaws to compress the connector. a vice will work just as well with a little practice.

I was just reading through this post and that is one amazing link.  One question...  Do you work for NASA?  If you do, then that is so cool.
