Hi i am either going to get

(2) Sony 15" 1500 watt peak and 500 RMS

or

(1) Power Acoustik Mofo-15 2600 watt peak and 1500 watt RMS

Should i but just one of the Power Acoustik or two of the sony's...the sony if i get 2 had higher peak watts but the power Acoustik has 1500 RMS and the sony only had 1000 RMS..whihc one is a better buy?

"Peak watts" mean nothing. If you must choose between these two, I'd also get the Power Acoustik. Think about it a little longer is my advice though. There are better subs than either of those two.

I agree, there are better choices and neither of those is a very high-quality sub.  How much do you want to spend?

All very good advice. Power Acoustik over the Sonys,,,BUT for what you are going ot pay for 2-15" Sonys or that PA, you could get one 15 of much better quality and sound. What is your price range?

Also...  What is the amplifier you will be using?

That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

yes, i know they have good reviews, on some websites Sony's have good reviews aslo. you can't compare user reviews on those sites with members opinions of this forum , here on the12volt the guys know what they're talking, they have experience with most brands. myself did learn a lot of these guys and keep learing everyday. so dont just believe user reviews and buy things before checking with these guys on this forum, you can get better product with the same money you want to spend on those two brands, that's my opinion.

Kicker solobarics are OK for pure SPL loudness, I suppose.  They are simply not very musical though.  I'd never own one, but lots of people like them.  Go shopping and listen to them to see if you like them.

Because this site is not the place to cross-promite your FleaBay sales.  Too many people were trying to do that.

If thats the sub u want go with a Kicker KX400.1 or KX600.1, most kicker subs sound better with kicker amps anyway

if you go with kicker why you don't go with the new 06 CompVX i heard from many people that they're awesome they have almost the SPL of the kicker square subwoofers but with excellent SQ.

Hey thanks dyohn i was just wondering. And bigwest, kicker subs are an excellent choice for rap music. And they produce huge amounts of spl, i am sure you will be pleased.

I too only listen to hip hop and i have owned these subs for 3 years.  However i just blew my 3rd 15" L7 and decided that im tired of this.  They do sound good for the low bass-lines but are horrible in the SQ range....They sound excellent for any Lil John and the Eastside Boys or 3-6 Mafia tracks but anything R&B is absolutely BAD!  I actually stopped listening to R&B all together b/c i had this subwooofer.  The amp i had running it was the MTX 81000D.  Just remember, if you get this from Ebay, make sure that you have a warranty b/c you WILL blow it.

Pure BS.  There is absolutely no need whatsoever to match brand names for "better sound."  Totally false.

I didn't say there was a need to match brands, but personally I think they sound better with kicker amps, lets face it kicker isn't a SQ sub to begin with, if your not listening to something with alot of bass I don't feel that they are that good. Just my opinion.

bigwest, I've got to stop you here.  Do you know how to use a measuring tape??

This forum is great to get ideas and find answers to legitimate questions.  "How do I know if I can fit the box in my car?" is nothing but senseless drivel.  Do what you are expected to do at this point:  look up the subs on the website or visit your dealer.  Find out the box size for two subs.  Measure your available space.

This thread needs to be locked.

-------------
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
