I don't know if this has every been disscussed before, if so I apoligize.  Could someone explain what the difference is between the different amp classes.  By class I'm talking about i.e.. bi polor, high current, d class etc...  Does it make a difference when buying an amp?

When my wife's legs start burning on the treadmill, I throw out the line from BCAE, "Think of this pain as the power dissipation in output transistors".

She doesn't laugh.  posted_image

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

a "high current" amplifier is simply one that can operate into a low impedance (usually anything less than 4 ohms for car audio.)  It's mainly a marketing gimmick if the amp uses that phrase since almost any amplifier available today would qualify as "high current."
