Installed Avic-Z1 in a 06 tahoe I  used a metra onstar/bose interface plug and after installed know i'm getting some alternator whine. Just installed the same setup in my bosses 06 seirra and not aware of any problem. Should i possible ground the radio to the chassis rather then the plugs ground wire? Also is there any chance anyone knows how to bypass the Z1 nav lock out ? Also you can use the factory xm antenna for the pioneer sirius tuner. Thank you.

you used a GMOS-04?

there's a gain inside that interface that usually needs to be turned down.

Try putting a power filter on the constant power lead before it goes into the adaptor, I had this problem sometimes with the PAC OS2BOSE.  You can use the factory antenna lead for the Sirius, it is located behind the glovebox.  You will probably have to remove the factory XM tuner and put your aftermarket one there, unless you want to re-route the factory antenna.  You may have to remove the yellow plastic plug, but it should plug in and work great.  I've done this a million times with the Eclipse Sirius and the XM Commander.
