Once again I need your help.

We own a 2001 Toyota Sienna XLE Van with the premium JBL 8 speaker system.

About a week ago one of the front door speakers blew. I called the local stereo installation shop to see what they may have as a replacement but was advised to contact the Toyota dealer for a replacement. JBL tells me in an email that they are licensed JBL produts but really Toyota oem. Bottom line I do not want to pay a high end price for an inferior product.

Does anyone know of a compatible replacement for this part number or even have onbe laying around?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you just want some sound back, it will not hurt anything to install 4 ohm aftermarket speakers in place of the factory 2 ohm.  If you stick with JBL speakers, it will probably sound similar to the way it did before.  The only way to know for sure, of course, is to try.  Go to the store and give some speakers a listen, then buy a pair.  If you're sticking with the factory system, you should go for similar sounding speakers since they were meant to blend with the other speakers (like the front tweeters).  Otherwise, if you put something completely different in, it may sound much worse since they won't be a good match.

This is not an ideal situation, but unless you want to scrap the factory system and start over, it should work.
