OK - here's the deal. When I shut off my car, the speakers continue to crackle. This has resulted in my buying a new battery, only to have it die within a week. Here is the deal.
A Panasonic CQ-DF583U head unit is what I use. From the head unit wiring harness are the following wires, shown with what they connect to in the Explorer's factory wiring.
Red(acc), Black (ground), and Yellow (battery) run from HU to Light GREEN/ YELLOW (battery), Blue (power antenna amp), Black (ground), and Yellow/Black (Acc).
Also, Grey/Grey White, PURPLE / Purple White, and WHITE/ Black White speaker bundles run from the head unit and meet up with their respective wires from the Ford.
There are, however, 3 wires from the HU that are not used. One is Blue, the other Blue/White, and the other BROWN / White.
I feel that for some reason there is a problem with a remote wire, somewhere. However, I have checked the forum and don't know which is the remote from the Ford. I would suspect the Blue, but I'm not sure. Can anyone give me some advice??
Do you have any aftermarket amplifiers in your vehicle? Factory power antenna? If you don't have the remote wire hooked up (blue/white) then I'm assuming that you don't have any other equipment that could be staying on.
No, nothing else on. Just the head unit mounted in place of the factory deck. Any suggestions?
Put the factory radio back in and see if the same problem persists. This sounds more like a bad radio than a connection or battery issue. It should have nothing to do with a remote on wire as there should be nothing connected to it.
