What is the best kind of carpet to use on a sub box? What is the easiest to work with. I remember someone mentioning cabinet carpet awhile back, but no one ive talked to seems to know anything about it.

Also any tips about how to carpet a box would be great. This will be my first time doing it and i dont want it to look like crap.

non backed high knit carpet.  They have some great cheap stuff at partsexpress.com.  Make sure you get the non backed though!  Glue it on with 3M super 77.  Start on one side, go all the way around (doing one side at a time), then trim it to make the seams at the edges, preferably not so visible edges.  Don't overlap anywhere, just cut it.

Follow the link in the above thread and you'll see a pic. The carpet that austincustoms was referring to is the carpet that will show shading if you don't take precautions to always show the same side outward.  Tip (in hindsight) would be to lightly spray paint one side of the sheet of carpet before you do anything.  You'll know the sprayed side gets glued to the box.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
