The only thing on your list that I would ever pay money for is Memphis.  They are several notches above any other brand you've named.

Out what you listed. I would choose between Ma Audio or Memphis. The other brands basically sucks. Crappy Pyle brand is better then Audiopipe and Spl. A Audiopipe sub comes in a cheap plastic case with a handle. That right there should tell you something.

"One the best according to quality"?

Five sixes and a three.

Memphis, a SOLID 3, maybe a 2 on a good day... But, I, too, am a hard judge...

The remainder? On a scale of one to six, 11!

Please read my suggestions here on choosing an amplifier.

Alphasonik is not the mother of Audiobahn.  It is her in-bred twin sister.

Audiobahn is the parent company and makes their brand, Aplhasonik, Xsite, Digital Audio, Swiss Audio, and Ichibahn all on the same Chinese assembly lines.  Only the exterior cases and paint jobs are different.  All basic entry-level gear that is IMO over-priced and extremely over-rated.  As an interesting side note, Audiobahn's owner is the younger brother of the owner of the Anaba Group which makes Mobile Authority, Optiview, Ultra Linear, Thump, Visonik, MA Audio, and Clif Designs.  The two companies are very incestuous and share technology, designs, engineering, and money.  In fact, cash from the American "bling bling" crowd who love those chrome-plated flame-embossed Audiobahn woofers has been keeping Anaba alive for about the past three years.  When kids wake up that it's all bling and sounds like ass, both companies may go down.  It can't happen soon enough.

What's loose?

You don't need the power of the headunit for anything but its working functions and putting the flash on the screen.  The amplifier will supply the power for the music.  Isn't this thread about amplifiers?

can we just do top 5 amp, sub, speakers, and hu brands??

Posted By: kgerry
Date Posted: April 27, 2006 at 11:32 AM

why bother??    you'll simply get a bunch of subjective answers based on personal tastes...     it's like asking "what are the top 5 cars in the world?"  based on what??

I'm not trying to be a drag, but these sorts of threads really just take up space..... the best thing to do is go out and audition some product and decide for yourself what YOU like...... there are good products (you'll notice i didnt say "brands") and there are not - so - good products out there..... decide for yourself.....

one thing i've learned from my weekend garage sale shopping wife is "one man's trash is another man's treasure"

i agree with kgerry on this one. i'm the little installing that i've been doing over the years i've learned that people (by ear's definition)will call garbage quality sound. it's all about what YOUR ear likes. now if you gave us a basic factor about an amp or sub or what ever (ie best spl or sq, most relieable power source, or even a price range bang for buck) we could all be more helpful from rookie to moderator.
