this is what ive been able to find so far on this amp but im not really sure if it actually is tri-mode capable
Alpine 3548 (used)
- 60Wx2 @ 4ohms
- 80Wx2 @ 2ohms
or
- 160Wx1 @ 4ohms
- Active built in hi/low crossover
- Tri-mode capability. Can run left and right seperates in stereo mode and a sub-woofer in mono at the same time. You will need passsive crossovers (capacitors and choke) to use the tri-mode though.

Uhh your running a 4 ohm stable amp at 2 ohms. Even though it's not shutting off it still doesn't make it a good idea.

There is no such thing as free installation!
The 3548 is capable of tri-mode and is also stable at 2 ohms stereo mode. It's 4 ohms stable in mono. To run in tri-mode you must turn off the filter and select the STEREO mode for input and the acoustic COMP has to be ON as well. This allows you to run a set of mid range woofers along with a single woofer with the help of resistors & caps.
