Hey all ,

as we saw in my other couple of threads i am building a new system focused mainly around a front set of components that i will be building.

however my friend of 8 yrs has graciously offered me a pair of AudioBahn 6.5" midbass woofers.

they are the AUDIOBAHN AMD60Q and i cannot find any meaningful specs on them.. anyone have some first hand experience with these? they will be coupled to the following system

Pioneer (yes i chose Pioneer over Alpine) P680MP
Pioneer cheap co-axials for rear fill
some component set for the front
JL 12" W7 in 34Hz slot ported box
Unknown Amp for it yet.

these babies will be powered off the measely 16W Headunit so keep that in mind.

can i still build a decent sounding front set with these? will they have the "midbass" punch and help bring the stage forward ?

Thanks guys

You can't get much punch with headunit power, you know that.  Can't you put in a bargain-basement two channel amp until you can get the one of your dreams?  The Audiobahn midbass drivers?  Your ears will supply the meaningful specs.  If you don't like them you can graciously offer them to someone else.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Stevdart, Thanks for the prompt fast response. thats why this forum is aweesome

I would really love to unfortunately I believe that solely powering my W7 taxes my cars charging system too much and re-winding a Saturn's alternator is an expensive endeavor, im a poor college kid who is parting out computers to pay for car stereos..

would you suggest "borrowing" from him the pair and building a setup and just listening if i like them great if not then give them back and keep the tweets and Caps, inducts,PCBs i used?

I guess im worried about designing my system around these woofers then not liking how they sound and having a system too specified for those woofers.

Why don't you listen to the woofer in a store?  That way you'll know if you like it.  I think the w7 sounds very good, but it must past the test of your ears.

That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

uhh, this isnt about the W7 at all, i know what the W7 sounds like as i've built 4 different boxes for it.

its about Audiobahn Midbass woofers that they dont sell in stores anymore due to age

i need the practice anyway.. nothing wrong with buying more Inductors and Caps.

Thanks guys

I'll post up with some X-over questions in a couple days, once i get my brain straightened out.
