are they actually playing music, or just random noises?     try playing a song but turn the deck all the way to 0 and see if they do it as well

if they do, you might possibly have very very unballanced RCA's...I have seen this on quite a few panisonic deck but not pioneer.

you could try grounding the outer shield of the rca's and see if that helps.

or it could be signal noise generated by rca's running to close to a positive or power wire

Try grounding the metal case of the radio to a good chassis/body ground around the radio opening.

well the noise still comes through the subs even when the car isnt running! if the key is just turned backwards it will still make ithe noise.

Reground the metal case of the deck, check the amp ground, clean it up, make sure its clean no paint or rust. Try some new RCA cables, shielded.

Now if you take your keys out and the deck/amp isn't on, are you saying it's still making the noise, or when the key is in the accessory position?

Could be a ground loop, could be insanely high gain setting, could be a short in the input signals.

it will make the noise when the keys are in the ignition, only if the car is started or the key is turned backwards! not if the keys are out are out or just sitting there in the off position! if the HU is off it doesnt make any noise. my level isnt set to high. its half. but when i turn down my level on the side of the amp it goes away but then the subs hardly hit cause the level is down. the RCA's I have, have a inuslated covering around them! so my HU needs regrounded u think?

I have a panasonic head unit doing this. Its in my display. I haven't had much time to monkey with it but gains are set right on amp. I have not heard of grounding rcas. Jeff could elaborate on how to ground the out shield on the rcas.

I have the same problem.  I hear the noise when the car is off and the ignition is turned back with the radio off.  I turned down the gain to make it go away, but now I have harly any bass.  That sucks.  What can be done to make this go away.  I just want my bass with no more noise.....  What did you do?

Feed back from radio when key turned off.... I just added a sub and amp but when the radio is off I still get a voom noise from the speaker sub. What would cause this?

The same problem happend to me before, the ground in your deck my be fried, so you have to fake it, or do a ghetto fix job, what i did was take some wire and wrap it around the plugged in rca, so the negative part on both , the get another boltand screw it into the body of the deck with the wire underneath, so from the outside of the deck to around both rcas. give it a try
