i have  2 12" 4 ohm dvc subs with a 2400 class d amp but the amp alone has 3 40amp fuses in it and is pulling alot of power so i bought a 12v battery from battery warehouse to put in the back but now my installer is saying that the battery is too small and might blow up if ran  in series with my under hood battery. should i just buy a cap and if so how big of a cap? or should i just buy a red cap battery to run in the back

You need a high-output alternator.  And no, you do NOT want to run two batteries in series.  In parallel, sure.

The alternator is the only thing that will provide and make the power your amp will demandfrom that point if you are having problems with charge discharge rates, look into a sealed battery like an optima or kinetik.

But Alternator First...Batteries and Caps will not help your problems...Unless your problems are that you dont like your alternators or any electrical item in your car and wish to fry them.....
