OK heres the scoop i have a 1997 eclipse spyder. I recently took out my xplod deck i was borrowing from a friend and put in my new eclipse 3404 deck. i made sure all of my wires were fine and i got a proper ground. the first thing i noticed after all the wires were on. My illumination would not turn on my gauges work but no glow out of them. also neither of my dimmer works either. so i of course rewired it and checkedfor any frays or open wires which they were all fine. then i put it back in and my friend said my tail lights were out and i immediately changed the fuse but by thenit blew instantly so after trial and error . i finnaly figured out when my deck was on it would blow a fuse. i have no idea iv checked wires their all good, btw i have 2 jl audio w3s and a memphis 1000d if that helps thanks adam OK heres the scoop i have a 1997 eclipse spyder. you have more than likely grounded the CD3404 to the vehicle illumination wire. This wire shows ground when the lights are off and +12v when they are turned on. Disconnect the ground wire and test again.

No, the deck needs a new ground wire ran. Now that this wire is disconnected, do the lighting circuits work normally?

just find a peace of metel that is connected to the body of the car. Put a lopp on the wire and bolt it to the metal.
