Ok, I installed some bass blockers in my explorer.  I put them on the small terminal of my jensen component speakers.  My question is, did I put them on the correct terminal?  I know that they have to go on the positive terminal, but the speakers didn't have the + and - marked.  Is there any problems that could occur because the bass blockers are on the negative terminal instead of the positive?

Thanks,

Arturo

The smaller terminal is negative.  Put the cap on the positive side.

At least, every diagram I've seen for this shows it on the + lead.  I'm still trying to figure out why.

Most manufacturers install the caps on the positive side, but electrically it doesn't matter.

So, even though i put them on the wrong terminals they will still block out the unwanted frequencies?  Cuz when i put them on i could tell that they were either cutting out power or blocking low frequencies becuase the cones were not traveling as far as before.  I switched them to the positive terminal today and they sound cleaner, but the frequency response is the same as though they were on the negative.

It makes no difference either way.
