I have a ford f150 Supercrew--- I currently have Boston Acoustics RC820 component speakers in all 4 doors..... Here are the speaker specs and I have the tweets flush mounted high in the door corners:

5 x 7" woofer with AMD
Neo 3r Kortec dome-flush mount tweeter....
Now.... Pushing these speakers I have a Pioneer Avic-D1 head unit and a JL 450/4 amp.
I also have a JL amp 250/1 pushing a 10 inch JL sub.......

Now I want to UPGRADE my front stage sound with better component speakers and replace the front stage Bostons......
The rear Bostons will stay as fill sound.....

I HAVE $600 to spend on a set of comps.... What should I get to have the JL 450/4 push?
I mainly listen to hard rock/ classic rock music

Any thoughts?

Please do not post multiple threads with the same question.  Thanks.

Go shopping and listen to what is available in your area.  Buy what you like from a local shop.

What's the point of going shopping in my local area?  Most of the "good" speakers can't be had at a wal-mart or autopart store--- That's what is in my area.......Asking others their opinion/ places to buy is the best method I know

Someone else's opinion is just that: someone else's.  Only your ears can tell you what you like.  Where do you live?  I cannot believe there is not one car audio shop in your area.

Alpine Type-R Components I personally LOVE. Like I've never heard a speaker that I like as much as it and I'm going to make them fit my car to have them. I work with other people who have found Rockford Power or Punchs really nice(obv where I work at that point) and I even have an installer obsessed with Infinity which I just think is blah. Opinions are opinions, my ears hear differently than yours, I listen to diff music as well so my taste may be for something else. You really REALLY should find a shop and listen though, I agree that its unlikely there is NOTHING within like an hour drive. (If this isn't worth an hour drive to you then well... Don't waste your time. The only bad thing about distance is service which trust me, I understand. And yes it DOES suck. But my sound system has gotten mass attention from the people around the area for strong build and well balanced. I'll burn the gas every once in a while to get that.)

first u had to go somewhere to get the boston's and the jl amp so where ever u got the boston's try to see if they have the boston pro6.5(3) its consist's of a 6.5" midbass, 4" midrange, and a 1" neo 3r kortec dome-flush mount tweeter and i set them up in their own enclosure (in a boat thats why) hooked up to a crossfire vr804 class a/b out put is 100Wx4 rms @4 ohms the set will present a 3 ohm load to the amp so u will get a little bit more out of the amp and the customer that i installed it for loves them he listens to the same stuff u do so see if u can find a set of those to listen to them retail is $500-$600 hope that might be a guide to ya
