for all those high fi guru's out there: i have a 93 mitsubishi diamante; it came stock with 2 1/2" mid ranges in the dash (they are facing straight up towards the windshield) but they suck! so i took them out well i have a 5 1/4" component set in the doors. well i would like to replace the 5 1/4" mids and put 6 1/2" midbass and maybe 2 1/2" mid range in the dash how well do ya'll think it will sound and also any good recomendations for good 2 1/2" midranges thanx for any input

Separating the mid bass from the mid range is not a good idea for the sound stage. Unless you have a killer processing unit that you can time delay the mid range, mid bass and the tweeter.... I would say place the tweeter's in the dash location instead and if possible, install the mid range beside the mid bass speaker instead.
