Hello, I saw a posting from Feb. 2005 with the same issue.  I also hooked an amplifier up in my '03 Cavalier and did all the "proper" techniques as far as I know.  Ran all wires and triple checked to make certain everything was right.  Disconnected -(neg) terminal on battery.  Hooked amp up and reconnected battery +(pos) side first then - side next.  Gauges worked fine and about 10 minutes later coming back from store, no reading on my gauges.  Checked all fuses and found 2 blown, electric fan for radiator (under the hood fuse) and turn signal fuse (fuse box in car).  Still have no guages and I do not know what that person ending up finding out if anything at all, or just had to bite the bullett and go to service station?  ANY help would GREATLY appreciated on this.  Thanks in advance.

Remote lead is coming from Rockford Fosgate RCA cables from head unit to amp.  Now I noticed at night my gauges are illuminated but still not working, but controls for my ac and heater are not illuminated but are functioning properly.  Strange things......been looking for anything that might have wiggled loose behind dash or came unplugged.  No luck thus far.
