How can the size of power hurt an amplifier. I have Kx1200.1 the power wire was 4 guage stinger(if wire brand makes a difference) and it is suppose to be 1 ohm is that hard on it. sounds good.

If its to small the amp will not perform to it full ability, you power wire will also heat up, poss. start to blow fuses. What is the power output of the amp @ 1 ohm, I'll guess 1200 rms? From what I see it probably should have 1/0 gauge.  

Brand of wire does matter, some cheaper companies advertise a wire at one size but in reality it has less (+/-25%)strands in it than a higher end co like stinger or tsunami etc.......

I would also suggest reading the sticky topic about upgrading the big 3 if you haven't done that already.
