Remote Turn on prob on 4 channel amp

Hey all.  I have an MA Audio 483ix 4 channel amp in my 95 Ford Probe GT, along with an MA Audio sub amp.  I have had them in my car for over a year or so.  For about 8 months now, the 4 channel will go into protection mode when I start the vehicle, most of the time.  Sometimes it will come on when I start it, but that is getting more rare now.  But if I just go to ACC, the amp turns on just fine.  I have had no problems with my sub amp.

And if it doesn't come on when I start it, if I drive for a few minutes and then shut the car off and restart it, it will then come on.  Sometimes, I have to do this a couple times for the amp to come on.

Here's what I have done:

-  Cut splice off of remote wire and ran directly to 4 chann

-  Switched remote source to the amp from the remote wire on the back of the cd player to the ACC wire.

-  Ran another wire for the remote over my seats to make sure there wasn't anything wrong with the existing one.

-  Installed a 12vdc relay to trigger the amps using the remote wire, ACC wire and also a seperate 12v source from the fuse block

Nothing that I did makes the amp come on when I start the car.  The sub amp comes on with the relay, so I know it is wired correctly.  If I jumper the 12+ on the amp to the remote terminal, then amp comes on fine.  And when I go to ACC in the ignition, the amp turns on just fine.

Obviously, there is a problem with the amp.  I opened it up and didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

Not sure what I can do now.  Seems like it won't accept the 14.4v to turn on, but accepts the 12v just fine.
