Is it the deck? Have you checked for ac voltage on the pre outs? Or are you just unplugging then plugging back in.When you check for voltage make sure nothing is connected. But in saying that Kenwood decks are notorious for dry solder joints on the main circuit board where the pre outs are, if this is the case you'll need to srtip the unit down, pull out the board and reflow the joints and re assemble.  When I was still doing repairs I used to get 8-10 units a week with the same problem.

Hold up there dude. Consider that you might be taking apart a cd player and the problem might not be there....you just fixed (or damaged) the cd player for nothing. First thing I would do is run a new rca cable over the seats from the cd to the amp and retest to see if it is the cd or something else.

After checking all other possibilities then take it to a repair agent it might sound easy but it's not.

In that case the problem has to be in the wiring, check everything like voltage, shorts or breaks in the speaker wiring, remote wire, are you getting a good earth? and so.

it is a power wire, or a ground wire problem.  Re do your amp install from one end to the other.
