blowing fuses

if i keep blowing fuses in my amp i have obstreved i either

-have a bad amp(its 3 days old)
-shorted out the power wire somewhere
-bad speaker
-0hms across channel


how woudl i find out hwats wrong i think i shorted it out but if i do short it out will my amp be fried after or do i jut have to fix the short

What kind of amp and speaker are you working with?

cliff designs cd10.1 ab calss monoblock and 2 kicker comp vr dual 4ohms wired to 1 ohm total

could i blow the amp from drawing to much power from the car and grounding out the power supply

too small of power wire will definitely heat up and usually melt a fuse.
this would be the case alot of times with overcurrent too.
if you have a dead short, the fuse will pretty much blow either a> it's blown as soon as it touches (power wire grouned) or b> the amp itself is deadshorted inside and will blow when the amp is turned on.
Then there's the case where it plays for a second, then pops.
alot of times this is due to the same as #1(overcurrent) just to a little more obscene level.
or, you have something wired improperly on the subs.


now i will tell you this. there is alot of current running @ 1ohm to create that kinda power.
so, max draw can be in the 120-130range depending on the amp.
class a/b tend to be a little less efficient, and drop them to 1 ohm it gets even worse.

Your amp is a POS I hate to say. No offence intended, we all have had to start somewhere. I used many POS items in my early years as well (actually by todays standards they were amazing as compared to a POS these days). If you are blowing the main fuses in the amp it is a indication of a dead short internally in the amplifier or a dead short on the power line, did you hook power to ground by accident for example?
