I just purchased a 2006 Nissan Altima S-ER that has the BOSE system, the system sounds good but it just does'nt have enough bass for me, I want to add a sub box, can this be done without replacing the head unit or burning up the factory amp.  A co-worker told me about the JL audio clean sweep ( I think that's what he called it ) he said that it was designed to work with factory amplified systems and that it would allow you to add a sub box, I haven't found anything info on it yet, can someone tell me about it, would this be the way to go?  Thanks for your response in advance.

jlaudioaheadofthecurve.com       you can also run a pre-amp adaptor for less $ i usualy solder my wires directly to the poles of the speaker to get my signal.

If you want to do it properly, use the JL Cleansweep or I prefer the Audio Control LC6 + bass remote, this way you can control your sub indipendent of the master volume control and expand your system at a later date.

Thanks for the inputs guys. Forbidden one other question, I looked on the JL Audio website and I noticed two clean sweep models which one is better for what I want, keep in mind that all I want to do is add a subbox and an amp.

j the cleansweep runs 399.95  a pre-amp adapter runs 29.95 for bass only the cleansweep is a huge wast of money. if you still want the sweep get hte newr one with the multi inputs.

IMO, I would use the Audio Control unit and add the bass remote to it so as to provide a separate level control strictly for your sub. Nothing is a waste of money when it provides superior performance. Yes there are two ways of doing this, the basic and inexpensive way or the advanced and costlier way.
