Using the 70-1787 amplified harness on this car with the Symphony (no bose) and notice that the there is no 12v switched pin that corresponds with the one in the metra harness. I just got this car, so I know nothing about it. Is there a connection that I can tap into besides going to the ign harness for 12v switched for my aftermarket HU?

Check the cigarette lighter plug. Otherwise, many German cars actually have a barrier strip under the dash where you can easily tie in. Just test the wires and find the ignition lead there.

Thanks, I'll try that. I have learned, for whoever wants to know, the CAN-BUS tells the factory radio when to turn off, hence the missing switched wire. ------------- Hit it again! It'll fit!

Hooked it up, but it sounds terrible. The rears, which hook up via RCA's on the metra harness are ~75% quieter than the fronts which are driven by speaker level from the HU. Had to fade to RR9 just to even it out. Did I miss an amp turn on? I did make that connection on the harness. There is absolutely no bass from the factory sub, or it is so quiet, I cannot hear it. This sucks. If I can't make it work as good as the factory radio, I'll just buy the stock Sirius Tuner. I had an extra HU with a sirius tuner already, so I thought I would try it first.
