I found an online retailer selling a model that will read to 162dB. Search around!

If this is for single vehicle use then you can get an audio control epic160, it will read up to 160 db

If you're only using this for bass competition, try paying a local dealer some nominal amount to quickly measure for you.
Spend more on your woofers.

The only problem is the audiocontrol epic 160 reads apprx 7 db off from a full setup like a term lab or audiocontrol 190.
The Term lab and 190 are the meters used by the 2 largest competition bodys. USaci and Db Drag. I actually saw a meter at walmart the other day made by schosh or what every the junk install stuff is.
I bought one for fun, brough it home, put it in the car with our termm-lab setup. The wal-mart is supposed to read to 145db..well at 123.6 on the term-lab it started freaking out and would not read anything. at 120db on the term lab it was reading 139. so way way off.
Like said before, find a local shop that may have a true meter and ask them, some may let you use it for free, others charge 10-20 per hour. Just call around

KPierson how much was the one that you found that read 162 and were did you get it at? just curiouse how much is a audio control 190 becuse i kno term labs are like 3 grand, and does the audio control epicenter with the spl meter in there really work right or not becuse i found it for 200 bux?

Term-labs setups are about $700-$800 new, if you watch ebay close enough you will find them. we have bought 2 setups for less then $350 each. They require a computer to run the software.
The audiocontrol epic 160 if about $250 the last time I checked, but reads approx 7 db higher then the term-lab or 190 meters. So if you do get one then go to a show, expect 7db less then the epic reads.
