I am working on a civic and the system is two 12" audiobahns and an audiobahn amp. When i turn the car on the subs will start making a continous noise and occurs simultaneously as the engine revs. Am i right to assume this is a bad ground? Or is it b/c audiobahn is a piece of .......!

yes, maybe you could have a bad ground, did you measured your ground to see how much ohm it is? a good ground supose to be below 0.02ohm some people say below 0.05 anything above are consider a bad ground.
or you have problem with your RCA cable double check them also.

my ground read .007, so its not the ground. Also the sub sound contineus even when volume is at 0. But stops when the cd is taken out. Is this a RCA problem?

sounds like a deck problem to me, is the noise there when radio is the source? If not try a different radio.

Audioyikes strikes again. Surprisingly, I hate to say it, I have had very few failures on their products (mind you I am clearing them out and they will never return again). Now, since Velocity Motors borrowed my crystal ball when he was here, I can't tell what cd player you have but I am suspecting a Pioneer. Post more info on the system and the vehicle please.

Sounds like a tell tale ground loop issue to me. Pioneer decks tend to be more susceptible which is why I assume forbidden mentioned it, but they can occur for a lot of different reasons. If you have the means, swap out the deck and see if that solves the problem. Ground loops can be very simple to fix or incredibly frustrating. Here's some info.

Yea the deck is a Pioneer deh-760mp . Not sure which model it is b/c the owner of the car is at work righ tnow. The vehicle is a 2004 Honda Civic. There are two 12" audiobahn dvc's into a audiobahn amp. I was only supposed to dynamat the car when the customer asked me to fix this problem. I originally figured it was just a bad amp, but after checking the ground and realizing that the sound stops when the CD is out of the receiver i was stumped.
