i head that onthe newer vehicals removel of the factory radieo can cause problems i was wondering if thier was any truth to it and if so witch cars also the same for mercedes benz please help thanks a mill.

Not sure about the European vehicles, but most GM vehicles are like this now. To test for this new system, just listen for the door open chimer and if it is coming out of the driverside speaker, then you have this OBDII system that uses a data wire to send information through the OEM radio to the BCM.

thanks a mill. jeff by the way would you know how i can get any info on european cars so i can find this type of info.i tryed to call the dealer ship but they will not give  any info if you can help please do thanks

Most cars are going that way. (if not already there) But you still can't judge whether or not you can remove the radio or not by just the year model alone (unless you are already familiar with the vehicle). If you are doing an install on a newer vehicle, utilize all your resources before you start pulling. Check here at this website for the vehicle information or you may want to stay in contact with other installers at other shops. You learn alot from other installers' "hardships" and experiences. Having the correct information before hand is alot better than having your last words be "oops"! There are books that are offered (some are costly) about each vehicle and its wiring and audio removal etc. The downside is that they are usually 6 mos. to a year behind because of having to print the updates. The internet is a great place to look.
