Is it dangerous to go w/ 16 volt HO alt.?

Hi guys, i'm planning to buy an HO Alt. and i'm thinking of Ohio Gen, and i was talking with my dealer and he told me that he want to check with Ohio if they can make a HO Alt. that can suply 16 volt. my question is, is it a good idea to go with 16volt for daily or can it damage my amps and my car electrical parts? or can a car handle more that 14.4 volt? what's the maximum volt a car can handle? i have a Toyota Corolla. so guys should it be a good idea or not, will 16 volt be dangerous? thnx guys, Aruman.

My advice would be to run your amps off of the 16 volt and keep your factory alt. running "normal" car needs. I am using a 16 volt, 300 amp in my Izusu Rodeo. It is ran to three amps, two batteries,  my winch, and aux. lights. Everything else on the truck runs off the factory alt.

why are you planning on running 16volt?    do you have betterys that will handle this type of voltage, a standrd 12 volt battery wil fail very very quickly if charged by a 16 volt system


That is my first question on why you want to run 16 volt?
