this may be a stupid question but ill ask:

on a battery there are negative and positive wires......are these wires the same...or is the positive a specific kind of wire? im askin because i have a a 15 ft 4 gauge wire and i want to upgrade the alternators positive wire but i also want to upgrade the batteries negative wire...would this wire work for both negative and positive?

Yeah it will work fine. I just put a new 8 inch 4 gauge kicker power wire for my battery ground. actually helped with the voltage drop. Doesn't drop so low now while idling.

Wire is wire.  The only difference between "positive" and "negative" wire is the color of the insulation or the markings on the outside.  They function exactly the same.
