Okay...
Want to upgrade my amp.....
Here's what I have:
I have 2 sets of components in my 4 doors;
rears = Focal Utopia 5.25"
Fronts = Focal K2p 6.5"
My amp is a JL 450/4 ------
I also have a JL 250/1 pushing a 10" JL sub but I like that the way it is....
What could I upgrade my JL 450/4 with?
Price limit --- around $1000
Thanks
You could replace the 4 channel with an Eclipse
XA4000, at 125X4, or replace both of them with an Eclipse
XA5000, at 50X4 and 300X1. Speaking from experience, Eclipse VERY honestly rates their amplifiers, too!
Both of those are digital amps, more efficient, and awesome sounding gear. The one XA5000 would be a smaller footprint than the two amps also...

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
For $1K you are in the ballpark of some very nice 4-channel amps. My first choice is the McIntosh MCC404 which can be found for just over $1k. Also look at amps from Eclipse, Audisson, Brax (or Helix,) DLS, Nakamichi, Phass, Genesis, all of which I believe have amps in your price range that are far superior to anything from JL Audio.

Zapco and Arc come to mind as well.
