hey i've got 2 300wrms subs (4 ohm single coil) and a 360wrms amp (4 ohm bridged) i was just wondering if the it would do damage to the amp if i wired the speakers as 8 ohms and ran them off the amp, i know that it wouldn't be as powerful but that doesn't matter as much, as it is mostly for aesthetics. thanks.

No damage at all. It's the lowest loads (think anything below 4 ohms) that push a 2-channel amp past its limits. The benefits you will get from doing this include: better sound, lower heat, less chance of a breakdown. Look at the amp ratings at 2 channels @ 4 ohms. That's what you will be powering these subs with.
------------- Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

the damping factor is very high with a 8 ohm load so the sound quality of your bass will be high. should be great in a hatch back etc
