i was sitting here thinking about things and i was looking at the w1v2's i see that they are preaty cheap and i have heard them and they are preaty loud also. so i was looking more into them and i see that they are a single voice coil sub. so disregarded it becuse a dvc sub is obviously better for wirering options. then tonight i took a better look at them and i was thinkging that 4 of these bad boys comes up as 1 ohm with single 4 ohm coils. then that would mean 6 of them comes up as .67 ohms and 8 comes out to an even .50 ohms. so that got me thinkgin becuse right now i have 3 dvc subs running at .67 ohms and its is hittin preaty hard. so my question is how rediculusly loud would 6 or 8 of these 12 inch subs be exactilly? can anyone help me out here becuse i have a suv and i have the room to put that many subs in there and im just wondering if this is something that could actually be done? becuse when you see someone open up their trunk and you see 6 or 8 subs you are just amazed. so if anyone could help me out here that would be great.

What amp do you have?

Sounds feasible. That box is gonna be ginormous.

Another sub that you might want to look at is the AA Assassin. Not as pretty as the W1V2, but it is cheaper.

that is the funny thing i WAS looking at those when i got the idea about this. it ia a ma audio amp a hk401sx that puts out 1200rms at 1 ohm and 1800rms at .5 ohm. the reason why i was looking at the jl's over the assassins is becuse i have seen and heard the w1's before. i have sat in a monte carlo that has a 1000/1 pushing 2 13 w1v2's and it was doin 143 on a audiocontrol. i have 3 pioneers right now on this ma audio amp and it is doing 150 all day long. so im thinking that the jl's might be a little louder, but im not sure.

I hate to say it but the JL subs are very very far from a SPL orianted sub.

Would it be loud and clean yes!    but I dont know if you would get much over your 150 db mark on a term-lab mic.   on an audiocontrol you could get to a 155 in the right box.

I think before you were looking at the L7's...I am currently trying to work out a box that is semi-clean, hits very very low, and will do decent #'s

So far we have came up with a box with 1 single L7 with 350watts rms to it.   It did 140.6 on the term-lab, so that would read about 145-147 on and older audiocontrol.

I should have a new box configured by the end of the week, I will let you know the results!

what the hell? how big is that box that you have that L7 in? it has to be huge to get a 140.6 and what kind of amp?

2.25 cu ft, slot ported, kicker ZR600 running at 4 ohm

The even more impressive thing that I built last week was a pair of audiobahn 10's    the subs that come in the prefabbed band pass enclosures!

2 of them in a 2.5 cu ft slot ported box, does great for rock or rap...very low bass, powered by a memphis 1000d at 4 ohm.    139.7 on the term-lab

Like I said I am working on it, I hope to have a box that finially does the Kicker L7 justice but it has been a long road to make a box that does it all

My goal is to have very smooth response, tight bass, low shaking bass, and get good and loud 145db is the goal for a single 12 L7
