Just wanted to know if anyone makes a good 3 way componet system with 6.5", 3.5" and tweeter that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.  I've seen some older ones from Boston that were pretty nice but they don't make them any more.  Any advice will be appreciated.

MB Quart used to have a set of good Premium 3 way components, Eclipse has a great set of 3way components available right now.

I wonder the about the same thing. Audiobahn offers a 3 way component that handles 720 watts per speaker. MTX also makes a set. I had found them via google. The Audiobahns are about a year or two old, I do not believe they make them anymore either. I would like to get a hold of some for my Frontier.

The MTX set is pretty good. The crossovers are really well made and I like the sound of them.  I used the 6 1/2 driver instead of the 4" set.

I personally have the focal polyglas 3 ways, but they cost me $900. They normally retail for about $1400. The MTX ones sound like your best bet. I would stay away from the audiobling ones.

As far as sound/money goes I would still lean on the Alpine F1 3-ways....they're crisp and clean. But the best set of 3-ways I've ever heard were Rainbow CS260.30 Refrence, I've love to listen to the CS360.30's....maybe if I hit the lottery!!

I, personally, am partial to the Boston 3-way set - as I've had some. But I think he/she mentioned something about them NOT costing an arm and a leg. OMG, the Alpine SPX-Z18T 3-way's cost $3500 US!! posted_image The Eclipse SC8355 costs around $600, the Dynaudio System 340 looks like it's $1200, and Focal and MB Quart aren't too far behind. I guess if it's a money issue (and you can deal with the ridicule), then I'd look at the MTX or <cough>Audiobahn<cough> components.
